HolyWaste is built on a question almost no-one was asking in 2018: where do the flowers go?

After every temple aarti, every wedding, every festival, mountains of floral waste are produced — and most of it ends up in landfills or in rivers and lakes, choking the ecosystems it once decorated. HolyWaste, a niche offering by Oorvi Sustainable Concepts Pvt Ltd, decided that floral waste deserved a second life. And so the FloRejuvenation process was born.

It began with one temple in November 2018. By February 2020, the team was partnered with forty temples, two flower vendor zones, and a bustling market zone — rescuing roughly two hundred kilograms of floral waste every single day. That waste is sorted, cleaned, dried, composted, and then transformed into a range of conscious household products.

Vimoksh incense sticks — hand-rolled by rural women, charcoal-free, infused with essential oils that burn slow and clean. Anandha dhoop sticks — bamboo-free, no artificial colours, no synthetic fragrances. Mehek wax tablets — each unique, hand-poured by individuals with intellectual disabilities, scenting small spaces for over three months. Petals soaps — small-batch, paraben-free, enriched with flower-infused oils. Raksha floor cleaner — bio-enzyme based, safe for children, pets, and the plants you’ve worked so hard to grow.

HolyWaste is a women-led, eco-savvy social enterprise. Their goal is to be the global guru of floral waste management — blending green practices with social good. With every petal that becomes progress, the soil gets a little richer, a woman’s income grows a little, and another small piece of waste becomes wonder.
